Expert Advisory Committee

The Expert Advisory Committee assists CAS as external advisors throughout the year. EAC reviews the performance and products of CAS-IP once a year.

The EAC group had this to say about the performance of CAS-IP at the 2007 meeting in Rome:

“We continue to enthusiastically support and approve the performance of CAS-IP and its manager, Dr. Victoria Henson-Apollonio. The Unit has facilitated the standardisation of policies related to IP management as well as capacity-building with Centres’ national partners. CAS-IP has created a strong foundation for professional intellectual property management services throughout the CG system.”

“The role of CAS-IP as trusted central advisor has continued to expand as individual Centres have gained skill in recognising and responding to their individual intellectual property management needs. The members of the EAC are proud to assist CAS-IP in achieving its important mission.”

The EAC is composed of 9 members: external IP practitioners (Chair of the Committee is a Law Professor), representatives from three CG centres, the host institution’s DG, the Chair of the AE Sub-Committee on IP and a senior scientist.
